Welcome to Lincoln-Juarez Institute 2009

The Lincoln-Juarez Institute offers full immersion classes for 3 weeks
This year it will be from June 27-July 21, 2009

Students stay with a Mexican family who helps them with their conversational skills; they take Spanish classes in the mornings and have the option of teaching English to local students in the afternoon. This way the students wanting to learn Spanish become a part of this small town atmosphere and make a lot of friends. The people in Jungapeo really look forward to meeting the new teachers each summer and seem to take them into their hearts.

We have special local outings that we attend as well. We learn how to dance, make homemade tortillas, go to a bakery, a machete shop, go to local orchards, visit a historical old hacienda, and go to local hot spring resorts to swim. On the weekends we charter a bus to take us to cultural, historical and fun places to visit.

The cost of $1,800.00 includes room and board, Spanish classes and books and transportation from and to the Mexican airport. The student pays for their plane ticket and their expenses on the weekend trips. These trips are optional but well worth it. We try to make them economical, fun and comfortable.

Places we have traveled have been Acapulco, Ixtapa -Zihuatanejo, Mexico City, The Pyramids of Teotihuacan, Morelia, Uruapan
’s National Park, Patzcuaro and the Island of Janitzio.

The combination of activities we have planned are designed to help you learn the culture and the language, while having a fun summer you will never forget.

This year we are expanding our classes with specific topics on certain days. The classes will include:

Grammar
Conversation
History of Mexico
Cooking
Dance I & II
Singing
+ a laboratory with tutors

We would love to hear from you, so we can reserve a place for you this summer. For more information,
